Tour Highlights
Day 1 - Depart from your hotel in Salt Lake City. Enjoy the stunning scenery as we cross the Wasatch Range on US Highway 6. We will make a rest stop and pick up a take out lunch for a picnic when we arrive. In Canyonlands we will hike to so some of the "Islands in the Sky" at Grand View Point. Another short hike takes us to one of the most scenic arches in Utah - Mesa Arch. We will take in the awesome and expansive scenery from Dead Horse Point State Park, then on to our hotel in Moab for overnight.
Day 2 - Full day hiking and exploring in Arches National Park. In the morning we will visit Park Avenue, Double Arch, Landscape Arch, etc. In the afternoon we will visit the Windows and then hike to what is arguably the most famous arch in the world - Delicate Arch. Overnight in Moab
Day 3 - Our first stop is the "other worldly" Goblin Valley State Park. There we explore and take photos among the "goblins." Next up is Capitol Reef National Park. At Capitol Reef we visit the historic Fruita School, ancient Fremont petroglyphs, and Fruita Pioneer Village. In season, we can pick fruit in the orchards or enjoy home made baked goods at the pioneer store. We will then explore further into the park as we drive the Capitol Gorge Road. Overnight in Torrey
Day 4 - We begin with a morning drive on one of the most scenic roads in the US - UT HWY 12. This breathtaking highway is a National Scenic Byway and in 2002 it was designated as an "All American Road". We drive this amazing route to Bryce Canyon National Park. We then hike and explore the park until sunset. A short hike down into the "hoodoos" gives a completely different perspective. We will view the evening glow from the best view point in the park. Overnight near Bryce Canyon. As an "International Dark Sky Park," Bryce offers incomparable opportunity for stargazing.
Day 5 - Transfer to Zion National Park for a fun day of hiking and photographing Zion Canyon. We will see giant sandstone monoliths, experience a green oasis in the desert supported by springs of ancient water, walk along the Virgin River. Following our day in Zion we return to Salt Lake City and end our journey.
Tour includes transportation, entrance fees to parks listed in the itinerary, guide services, and lodging throughout the tour. Meals, drinks, gratuities, and items of a personal nature are not included.
