Bonneville Salt Flats

Day 1 - Depart from your hotel in Salt lake City.  Our first stop will be Great Salt Lake Marina State Park.  We will enjoy views of Salt Lake and learn a bit about this unique environment and the Birds and Animals that rely on it.  After driving west for about an hour we will get our first views of the Salt Flats along the interstate.  Following  lunch in Wendover we will visit the historic Wendover Airfield, the most complete of the WWII era airfields.  We will visit he recently completed museum and its exhibits about the WWII bomber training.  Next we head to the Bonneville Speedway.  Normally, during the summer months the salt flats are dry and we can drive on the salt flats and explore.  It is like being on another planet! 

Note: If the salt flats are wet and we are not allowed to drive on them.  Instead we walk on the Salt Flats (we provide rubber boots).  It is a different experience than driving, but some of the best photos are taken when there is shallow water.  

Tour includes entrance fees to the Great Salt Lake Marina & Wendover Museum, transportation, and guide services.  Meals, drinks, gratuities, and items of a personal nature are not included.
